Bathroom Walls

How you finish your walls has a huge bearing on the impact that your bathrooms will make. Ideally, from a hygiene point of view, the walls of the bathroom are best finished in tile or marble finish.

However, depending on the size of the room, this may not always be an economic option.

In Ireland, bathrooms are typically finished in half-tile and half-paint, with the lower part of the walls tiled, and the upper section finished in a waterproof paint.

This works very well in a large bathroom if you are on a tight budget. Nonetheless, if you have gone to the expense of installing a large family bathroom, then we recommend that you allow enough of money to finish it out in full ceramic tile, floor to ceiling. It will be worth it on the long run and will certainly help the value of your home should you one day be selling it.

In smaller bathrooms, the effect of fully tiled walls with judiciously placed mirrors will create a feeling of space.

Pictures or prints are another way of adding colour and ambience to the bathroom walls.

However, this is not a room to hang pictures of your loved ones. Go for scenic or abstract prints in keeping with the overall style of the bathroom.

The finish on the walls of your bathroom, whether small or large, is so important. Do not take the cheap option if at all possible.
