Bidets

A bidet is effectively a sit-down washbasin used for washing and cleaning the genital areas. It is a very convenient and functional piece of equipment and helps conserve water. Long considered a luxury item, bidets are becoming an increasingly common addition to the Irish bathroom. Bidets are very easy to use. The user sits astride the bowl facing the faucet to control the spray or fill the bowl with water.

Bidets require as little as nine feet of space to install. Simply rough in the bidet, install the faucet and connect the supplies. Fresh water enters the bidet either through a vertical spray in the centre of the bowl, integral filler or a special spout that delivers a horizontal stream. The bidet's use of water provides convenient and gentle cleansing.

Bidets have been designed to complement and co-ordinate to the styles of the rest of the bathroom. Most hardware outlets in Ireland offer combination bidets and sinks together with bath and toilet fittings.
